GIEC workgroups are the functional means by which GIEC member companies focus on specific regulatory issues. Each of the five GIEC workgroups is coordinated by a member-company chairperson who reports to the GIEC Board of Directors. Workgroup membership and participation is available to each GIEC member company.

Workgroups meet on a periodic basis and draw on both member company and outside expertise to deliberate and comment on proposed rules and regulatory policies.
